Deutsche in Kuwait?

Ich suche deutsche Gesellschaft in Kuwait, zur Unterhaltung. Are there any native German speakers interested to meet a South African expat who speaks & understands the language (Deutsch als Fremdsprache), for socialising? I need to practise my language skills!

please stick to the English language on the forum :D

you can find all the Dutch in kuwait on Expat.com by going to the "Networks" page (link)

Legacy, you are not paying attention lately! :)

He is not looking for German (Deutsch), not Dutch people. Although coming from SA I can understand how you can get easily confused.

He is looking for Germans, Austrians perhaps people from Switzerland it seems.....

marckdan: Hallo und willkommen auf expat-blog :)  I'd help you but my German can be compared to a three year old! I'm sure my husband wouldn't be thrilled if I offered him haha but there's a fairly large amount of German speakers in Kuwait so you shouldn't have an issue finding them just keep speaking German they'll find you  :D

Halli-hallo!
Thank you for the response. Ja, Deutsch hab' ich schon hier auf der Strasse gehoert, but I didn't want to accost strangers on the street! I read about a group, German Ladies of Kuwait (GLOK),in an online forum before I left, but haven't seen reference to them since landing. So, meanwhile I'll keep my ears open.......I hope someone here will be able to point my ears in the right direction!  :)

marckdan: GLOK is hosting a Christmas Bazaar this Friday if you're interested let me know and I'll PM you the details :)

Absolutely!
I'm in Mahboula, and I hope the venue is on a bus route.....

So I found my way there, but got completely lost in the area and got to the venue just as they were packing up. Social contact with GLOK is only through a lady partner who'd become a member of society. Pity....:-(

Everytime i see a white person here i stare and try to identify if they are german/austrian/swiss. It would be nice to meet some of them to practice the language. I also plan to head to germany in 6 months if all goes to plan.

Oh, I can easily spot them! And when they speak just one word, my ears are peaked. But I feel a little awkward just to go up and speak to them....
