I am from Boston and traveling to Beijing at the end of August. I am accompanying my son as he will be studying at Peking University for the semester. I will be staying a week and have questions about cell phone - if I bring an unlocked blackberry -- will I be able to buy a Sim card with internet access for him? Thank you for any suggestions! Best Regards, Lin

Yes, as long as your phone is unlocked.
you can buy an SIM card and charge it in any news-stand or convinient store in China.

Hi.
Visitting internet by cellphone, will cost your money.
1yuan/1Mb, if don't buy any GPRS.
5yuan/30Mb per month. If you consume more than 30 Mb, the part out of 30Mb costs 1yuan per 1 Mb. Buy this GPRS by send GPRS5 to 10086, and then reply yes in an hour.

10yuan/70Mb per month, the part out of 70Mb costs 1yuan per 1 Mb.Buy this GPRS by send GPRS10 to 10086, and then reply yes in an hour.

20yuan/150Mb per month, the part out of 150Mb costs 1yuan per 1 Mb.Buy this GPRS by send GPRS20 to 10086, and then reply yes in an hour.
And so on.
