I already know about Craigslist and Clasificados Online.  But what sites would find acreage, from 10-100 acres or more?   Those sites are not geared to farmland.

I want to be able to grow food.  Far from the big cities is ok.  Can be undeveloped, without a house.

There should be realtors who have farm land in their portfolio. An internet search could help.

The dept. of agriculture could be helpful as well. They are supposed to promote new farms and help to develop local agriculture.
Their website http://www.agricultura.pr.gov/ was completely down today but it could work tomorrow..
On this page: http://www2.pr.gov/Directorios/Pages/In … ?PRIFA=055 you'll find their contact info.

Good luck!

If you are interested in the eastern part of the island, there is much for sale in the Naguabo area.(Moderated: Housing offers should be made in the housing section only please)

I don't know any specific web sites for purchasing land. In Naguabo, which is on the east coast (rural but close to the autopista), you will often notice "Se Vende" signs next to pasture land and abandoned properties in various stages of dis-repair. Most are located on off-the-beaten path roads like 970, 971 (where our home on 1.6 acres is for sale - see separate posting), and other side roads that meander north toward Ceiba and Fajardo. I recommend you drive around the area you are interested in, stop at local ferreterias or calmados, and ask the locals. Almost everyone on the island knows someone else or has a relative who has something for sale. A word of caution about purchasing property and particularly land - seek the assistance of a lawyer and make very sure you get clear title because even the most minor dispute will take years for you to resolve. There is much beautiful property on the island - good luck with your search.
