At 2,100 Baht for 10 kg with EMS or 750 Baht for a rather small box, I wonder if there is another way to getting clothes and a notebook sent over? Total weight is about 50 kg. Time is unimportant, 2 wees woud be okay.

It's a bit scary, with no post codes...

Chers,

VN Customs typically charge 100% duty on what THEY think the good is worth. As carry on/checked baggage it would be duty free.

The best way to ensure delivery is to send something Poste Restante c/o Main Post Office - wherever (in HCM make it Main Post Office). Include the addressee's name with cell number after it).

They will require ID for pick-up and to pay small 'delivery charge'.

The parcel has arrived. It took almost 4 weeks and was clearly inspected thoroughly. Not sure yet if anything's missing as a friend took the delivery for me. Man, am I glad it arrived at all!

VN Posts never claim to be fast but they usually arrive at some point in time. Blame the postal union for mail routing.

And most VN Post employees aren't thieves, these days, but register for extra security.
