School Review - Taylor/SriGarden, Global Indian, Fairview

Hi Everyone

I am Indian settled in S'pore and now moving to KL in few months. Finalizing my package and other stuff, now I am looking for School for my 3.5 year old son who will 4 years in Feb end.

I am looking to have his admission in Nursery as 4 years.

Looking at my budget, I have narrow down my search to 3 schools
1. Taylor International (formerly known as Sri Garden)  (Cambridge Curriculum)
2. Fairview International (IBPYP / Cambridge Curriculum)
3. Global Indian (CBSE / Cambridge Curriculum)

Please let me know if I am wrong in above information, also if you have any other school in in par or better than these school with same or little higher fees.

Anybody who has reviews on these schools regarding Discipline, Studies, Teachers, Student Welfare, please let me know.

To add, my office is in Sentral, i do not mind travelling 7-10 kms provided I take accommodation near the school.

Appreciate your time in advance.

Thanks
Jas

Hi there is no such thing as "Cambridge curriculum" that is a made up advertising thing used by schools in Malaysia and places like China. What they do - and Fairview only did this recently due to parental pressure - is follow checkpoint. A rather dull book learning experience usually that mimics Malaysian state school teaching.

Taylors is far superior to the other two a non contest really.

Thanks Nemodot

Being a Teacher yourself, please advise if all the international schools in Malaysia follow this checkpoint system? Even the high end schools?

How the school expect the student to clear the checkpoint if only its a mimic being used? What exactly they will be teaching?

Donot have much knowledge into this so maybe asking too lame questions.

Thanks
Jas

No checkpoint is not used by high end schools. Or upper mid range.it is generally used by lower range schools who use unqualified teachers

Checkpoint is designed so that non western qualified teachers can prepare students for igcse.
