We are moving to vietnam by end of this month

Halo everyone.. we are moving to vietnam by end of this month.. Would like to seek for your advice of how to get started there.. Will be working at D1, have a 12 months old baby. Highly appreciate your input on the following questions:

1. Recommended place/area to stay (i.e., not too far from office, near to market for grocery shop perhaps, somewhere convenient and easy access) and what type of house/condo/apartment/flat to stay. ( A small family of 3) Price range? Procedure?

2. Looking for decent nursery for 12 months old baby. Any advice?

3. What are the things I need to bring over from Msia?

4. Etc that i need to take note of..

p/s: I have no idea at all about Vietnam..please give me advice.. Thanks a lot and highly appreciate your info!

Regards,

Hi,

1. I just saw this ad. https://www.expat.com/en/housing/asia/v … ynh-s.html

I am not sure about quality but this area is full of shops and food. If you have time, you can go to district 2 or district 7 to check.

About district 2, you can stay in An Phu area. Near metro/big C. The price is around 6-12m/month. I saw some nice apartments building there.

Take note:

2. You can check price of a babysitter here: https://www.expat.com/en/jobs/asia/viet … tting.html

3. You don't need to bring anything if you rent a full equipped house/apartment.

Nothing like doing your research at the last minute!

Your best bet would be to move into a hotel in District/Quan 1 for a couple of weeks then check out the areas.

There is a Chinatown here (called ChoLon) and many of your Malay-type food stuffs are there.

Unless you are getting company transport, Quan 2 is a long haul from Quan 1, especially at rush hours.

Search this web site for postings searching for Malays, then you can get better advice.

Most apartments are fully furnished so there is no need to bring too much. Voltage is the same as Malaysia. Besides, Malaysia is only a short journey on AirAsia away.

You can search for this on Facebook also "Mothers, babies and children in Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City)"
There are a lot of members here from HCM who can help

Hi, I'm Vietnamese, I'm living Ho Chi Minh City. I think I can help you.
Please let me know the adress of the company you will work.
The cost for house/apartment that you can accepting is how much?
you want finding a decent nursery or nanny for your baby and you want paying for that is how much!
Let me know i'll help you.

Hi everyone, thank you very much for all sorts of useful information!
