Hi there. I am new. I have wanted to live in England, for as long as I remember. I finally got it narrowed down to two places I'd like to live in. The top of my list is Stourbridge, which is about 30 mins from Birmingham (my second choice). I like Stourbridge because it is so close to the larger city, but seems smaller.

I have a few questions. I was wondering what the average for rent, electric, etc is in Stourbridge. Also, I only have employment background in retail shops - cashier, clerk - and was wondering which kind of work visa I am supposed to apply for.

Thank you.

PS: I would like to point out that I want to permanently live in England.

Why Stourbridge? What is your other location.

Stourbridge is fairly affluent for the midlands. If you have the budget I would say it's probably not a bad place to live.

Hi Valérie Anne, did you have a look at the Guide of Life in England? There is a section on visas.
Hope this helps
