This is a very old topic, but one that comes up on the forum reasonably often, so maybe worth a bump.

Finding a job as an expat here requires following strict rules, a lot of paperwork, and pretty much always needing a degree and a lot of experience in your field.

Forget working as a hairdresser or lifeguard on the island of Bali as no foreigner is allowed to do any job an Indonesian national is able to do.

Potential English teachers must be from one of five native English speaking countries, hold a degree in English, have five years appropriate experience and be drug free.
