Since I cant sleep, help me with this

I've been trying to put together few descriptive, yet energizing paragraphs for my company to use for different purposes.

"Descriptive" is very easy, but the minute I try to sprinkle a little "oomph" on the pie, it gets ruined because it sounds funny to me in one way or another.

Best example is trying to lure in a client who's not yet operating in Libya: "Libya is an emerging and distinctly/uniquely/evidently promising market"

Hell!! That phrase sounds atrociously funny when I think about the countless "market" encounters I had and continue to have as an individual.

Should I try to write it while under the influence of a sunstroke or should I hit my head against a light pole to get over the traumatic experiences of my first few months in Tripoli?

bluejay

I prefer uniquely, but distinctly will also work.  Don't worry about writing under the influence of heat stroke..... your quote is true....it is an emerging and uniquely promising market.  Your nose will not grow with this one. ;)

Plus there is opportunity galore here for the right company and now is the time to get in before the market gets too competitive. If only I had a few million to toss around!

Mudman

distinctly/uniquely/evidently are no good without additional embellishment and to be honest don't make me want to read further.
A market with untapped potential,  a market with large potential financial rewards, a dynamic market, one with the POTENTIAL for exponential/rapid growth.   Now I'm getting trouser arousal :)

MoEl

You see, in this case I fear that "uniquely" may carry plenty of spice and is open for different interpretations, including "you're-gonna-get-screwed-big-time unique" and that's why I'm considering other choices. But again, other words could sound a bit bland, and bland is completely anti-me.

And I keep going back and forth back and forth endlessly.

P.S. Bluejay, what would you do with few millions?

MoEl

Mudman is THE man...yet again!

Mudman

I should work in marketing

bluejay

I cannot tell you what I would do if I had a few million, cause then I would lose my competitive edge.  Let's just say it would not be a carpet or furniture store!
Speaking about marketing....has anyone ever heard of doing a market survey or business plan before investing in a business.  Say that's an idea....

There is a ton of potential in this virtually untapped market. I will leave the rest to the professionals.  Marketing is kinda  fun when your bored or cannot sleep!

WE Masters Of The Universe
declare that you guys are right
original ideas we disperse
whether we're on fight or flight
we make the world go round
regardless of what's wrong or right
our imagination cant be bound
even Gordon Gekko we got of his plight
as long as we're "off the ground"
'cuz a logical mind cant invent a slight

We taught 'em all
doctors, lawyers, movie stars and politicians
how to disguise a fall
even when it's deliberate and performed in succession
a rare talent is ours
of constant acquisition
that morality stalls
with laws and other social superstitions
so to excel as a marketer
breaking the rules must be your obsession

Go away, you evil woman! Libyans are proud of their corporate heritage. Nothing can dissuade them from the ways of their forefathers.

But seriously, I was thinking about this today. Mapping the libyan market or any section of it would be a job so greasy only someone as obstinate as Job could finish.

Marketing is kinda fun when your bored or cannot sleep!

Ok, so you're either an engineer or a scientist.

Edit: stupid quote marks!
