Starting a company

Hi,
I have a kitas and like to know n average what does it cost to start a company in Jakarta

Thanks

Redstar

Your kitas belongs to your current employer. Before you think about setting up shop as it were I would suggest you get the correct visa to be allowed to remain here while you start your unknown business.
If your current Kitas sponsor finds out you are trying to use the Kitas for another they may well cancel it and you will need to leave the country and then return on a social so be careful.

Thanks for the reply,

My kitas is sponsored by wife, as in long stay.

Are you going to set up this company through your wife?  Will it be a CV or PT?  If you plan on working at this company it will need to be a PT, as a CV cannot sponsor a KITAS and working permit for a foreigner.  On the other hand, if you go for a KITAP then a CV would be fine for you to work, but only at your wife's business.

The initial paper work filing for a PT costs about 10 million, and then there will be extras, like license fees depending on the kind of business your wife will be operating.  In filing for a PT you are asked to provide three different names, and the business office will choose one.  Also, the name must be in bahasa Indonesia.

Your question is in reality way too general to be fully answered here, but if you do some homework on Google there are plenty of notaris/attorneys and agents in Jakarta who can be far more specific based on your particulars.

My field is music entertainment  live performances, how is the Ubud scene, I've never been there

Ubud is fabulous.  I have to tell you there are lots of great Indonesian bands on Bali...so, expect a great deal of competition.

Cheers, Roy

How do you think I do Roy?  smile

Very nice, but this is what I'm talking about...my friend Putu Krisna of Kis Band:

Bali has a lot of very high talent musicians.  What can I say, art is in their blood.

And if you liked those two, you can check these out too:

You can always send me a PM through this forum if you like.  I'm a bit cautious about publicly declaring my e-mail address, and hopefully that's understandable to you.

Cheers, Roy

Hi and welcome to the forum.

To introduce yourself to the forum could you please give us a little information about yourself. Thanks.

Hello sir. This is mohammad lateef resident of india. Working in saudiarabia present.if you need any worker in your company. Inform me please. Am ready to work in indonesia. Because next after two months me going to marryy indonesian girls and want to settle there.

Just notice that you have another post here. At least you gave few more infos this time.

In short, as a foreigner you can not just work here legally without having proper papers respectively work permit.

Hie bro... we in same boat... btu i need a bit of your help... i am already doing business with  indonesians... now i have been here pas 3 days... i had to be here on an emergency note... tried to open bank accounts.. they asked for kitas...please help a simple procedure to get kitas... thanks a ton m8 cheers :)

You can get a kitas once you have a job and are sponsored by an employer. This process takes weeks or months. So unless you plan to live or work here for a long period of time getting a bank account will not happen.

There is no simple way to get a KITAS, you need to get sponsored respectively employed by a local company and the whole process takes long time from A-Z.
