Hello, I visited Cape Verde last year. I am coming to cape verde this year but I want to stay for a year or so. I am an american citizen. I know I can stay for 6 months total on a re-entry visa. I was wondering do I have to leave cape verde for a day then come back? is it possible to extend the visa for longer? are there any countries near cape verde for a visa run? thanks

Its possible to extend, or simply go to Dakar Senegal and re-enter and get longer stamp.
I would advice that you speak to CVAngelo on this Cape verdean Forum, he is from the Americas, and has been a legal resident of cape verde for a long time. He has the best advise for you.
