Is there a special phrase you say when someone has given birth in Greece, as our consulting engineers wife has just given birth and I would like to congradulate them in Greek style.

First of all hi!!!
Well its not like a special phrase or something like that but we say "να σας ζήσει".its something like: may it live in english! But its what anyone says for birth congratulation
so lets go to the pronunciation now.i ll give you each letter alone.
Ν ν [capital and small greek letters here]
(nu)
like n in note
Α α
(alpha)
like a in father
Σ σ ς σ and ς are small but ς is used only as the last sigma in a word
(sigma)
before β,γ,δ,ζ,μ,ν,ρ - like z in zoo
otherwise - like s in set
Ζ ζ
(zeta)
like z in zone
Η η
(eta)
like ee in meet, but clipped short
ΕΙ ειits two letters but in this form they sound like eta
like ee in meet, but clipped short
*end of the class:).as you see some letters are the same.you got everything you need.so it should be like this: "na sas zeesee".
I hope that helped otherwise i m still here:)
