here's another thread on almost exactly the same topic:

have you browsed through the forum here? There are many threads asking the same/similar questions. Cost of living is naturally a hot topic here.

Hi Sathya.

There are English speaking Schools in Oslo, For instance http://www.oslointernationalschool.no/ and a few others.
This is the fees page for the above School http://www.oslointernationalschool.no/s … 47.en.html
but just Google English speaking Schools in Oslo and shop around a bit, not only for Schools but everything you spend money on in Norway. Some prices border on daylight robbery but if you shop around you can find much better deals on just about anything.

On your salary you should easily be able to survive, no problem. Yes, the cost of living is pretty scandalous compared to many places but once you get to know your way around it is possible to live quite comfortably on a moderate budget.

When you first start to work here you will get some decent tax relief (they don't rugby tackle you for you money right away) last time I checked you were able to pay reduced tax for the first 2 years., but don't take my word for it go visit them and check it out here. http://www.skatteetaten.no/en/Internati … in-Norway/

Lykke til (Good luck).
