Teaching English in Japan

Hi!

My boyfriend and I are entertaining the idea of teaching English in Japan. We have experience teaching in Thailand and both have TESOL certifications. My questions are:

1. Should we go through a recruitment company?
2. What are the odds that we can get jobs at the same school?
3. What are some useful sites for finding jobs?

Thanks!

Probably the most hilarious advice anyone has ever given me.

Like I said we HAVE worked in Asia before so we do understand the interview process. Thanks anyway.

Sounds exciting to teach English in Japan. Probably a nice change after Thailand, I mean having four seasons and living in such a beautiful country. Good luck!

One site that is helpful for finding jobs is https://jobs.gaijinpot.com

Getting jobs at the same school might be difficult, unless you can demonstrate that you work well together/team. Perhaps that can be something you can market yourself as unique.

I wouldn't use a recruiter. I would check out Ohayosensei.com for jobs. That's a good one. Or this post on the best sites for teaching in Japan (eslinsider.com/blog/best-websites-resources-for-teaching-english-in-japan).
