I would say it's a pretty good salary yes.
I'm not sure on the average salaries - but i know for those who run a micro organisation, they can't pay themselves more than 720 Euros a month - and I know a friend who is on just under 1000 Euros a month and considers it a very good wage form someone with a couple of years experience.
Most jobs will mention "competitive salary" on the job specs when you apply, but rarely pay well - many people work long hours, in demanding jobs for much less than 1700 Euros a month.
