We are currently waiting to hear when our moving date will be. I am trying to make contacts before we get there to help us know what to bring. We just packed up our Christmas stuff and it was really hard to decide what we should bring and what to store. This Expat.com has already been helpful with appliances and a car. I am so upset to learn that we can't bring our pets unless we make them go thru the process of 6 months in the UK before be allowed in Barbados. Has anyone actually done this? We have an 11 year old collie and 7 year old rat terrier. I worry they wouldn't survive. Is there any other way? My heart is breaking....

There does not seem to be any way around it. Our dog passed away in 2010, and we have not gotten another pet until after we move. If the money is not a problem, you could visit every so often during the 6 months period. On a high note, vet bills are more reasonable in Barbados. Good luck with what ever you decide.
