Hi all
I married my Irish husband in Dublin 3 and a half years ago and we haven't been living together for the last 6 months.

We don't live in Ireland

What is the quickest way to get divorced.

Any help will be appreciated.

Ta

Hi Ta,

If you're married with the Irish legislation, it takes a lot of time.

Basically you have to get 5 or 6 appointments with your husband and a solicitor.  You can do them as fast as possible then after this step is done, you can be declared as "separated" (including on passport and ID card) very shortly. Once this step is done, unfortunately you've got to wait the next 4 years before to be officially "divorced".

I guess it depends where you did get married with your Irish husband. If it's not in Ireland then you can ignore what I mentioned. Otherwise if you did get married in Ireland unfortunately that's how it goes. You can be very quickly separated but to be officially divorced you have to wait somewhat time.

You have more information on the link below.
