thank u very much in advance

There are hundreds of job sites and web sites such as this one. All you have to do is google it.

But perhaps if you told us more about yourself... some members may be able to help.

What is your profession?
Where in China would you like to work?

etc
etc

Kris

Hi,

A customer has asked me before if I know anybody who want to teach English in his training school.I think you can find a job easily in China as an English teacher. But your mother language must be English. As Kris said, you have to tell us more information about yourself.

One tip,you should find a company which can apply you a work permit for you working here legally.

Hi,

I have a friend who is from Morocco either. He is nice and in Shanghai now.If you will come here maybe I can introduce you to him.

Hope you will find a good job soon.

Berry

The fact of the matter is... how "native" sounding is your English?
China is fussy about accents and prefer North American accents and pronounciation of the English language. They simply find it easier to comprehend for some reason.
However they often use British English as opposed to American English in their studies... probably because of the british influence in HK. China has basically followed the HK model of English integration even if they prefer American style verbal English.

In the end the more North American sounding an English speaker is the better the chances of employment irregardless of your educational background or teaching experience.

Kris

Thanks Berry,
It is a pleasure to be there and to know both of you, i will come next year.

khalid

thank u kris,

I have a good prononciation  by the way  sounds like British accent cuz i have been taught by Britsh woman.

@ berrylew. I have heard that certain companies i china are notorius for ripping people  off when it comes to work permits and visas. How can one tell a genuine company and do you have any recommendations. Also I have been offered severa jobs by different schools and training centers but everytime I ask for necessary documents to apply for permit they seem to drag their feet. so in this case can an agent help

The Chinese government is currently cracking down on illegal visa agents.  So now most of them are calling themsleves visa consultants or visa specialists.  Any agency that helps you get a visa should be suspect, no matter what they call themselves.  Any decent job should help you with the paperwork to get a legal visa.  If not, you can always go directly to the source and get the visa yourself.  The people who actually issue the visas are less likely to lie, cheat and steal from you.

I concurr with Haily... First of all; don't get involved with any school or company that drags their feet about visa documents... they probably are NOT permitted to hire foreigners to begin with. Secondly; A company that does not come clean about their visa is also more likely to not keep you employed or pay you as promised. Third; if you're caught working without a work visa you'll be fined and sent home and not permitted to re-enter China for some time if at all.

Yes,you are right. Some schools or training centers can not hire foreigners, not because the schools or centers don't have the qualification to hire foreigners, but they were built up illegally.Like on their Business license there is no such kind of teaching thing in their business scope. And some may just don't want to waste their time and money applying you that permit. They may afraid that you will quit the job after they getting you a residence permit.

Oh Hailey,

You are everywhere. In fact I think people are not that stupid and need your warning again and again and again and again on visa agency things.People can get their work permit or visa by themselves, that true. But if you advise everyone to get their visa by him/herself,and to ask questions in the immigration bureau to solve their problems. Then I have to say you are living in your dreams.Yes,the officers are less likely to lie, cheat and steal from you.Aaand they are less likely to tell, advise and ask you either. That is the reason why there are so many visa agencies.
Oh,should I hate my job?God...

Totally agree with Kris here. My own opinion is that English is just that, "English". British English is the benchmark for education around the world. When I was a child in school, there was many Welsh teachers, trying to wash the "accents" out of the class, was a lesson by its self! Imagine American English, I am always correcting my Microsoft O/S laptop use`s of Oxfords best. Teehee!

I totally agree with you Berry and Hailey. I was in Hong Kong over this last week to do my visa. Initially i had planned to use an agent who had told me I could get only 15 days on my visa. The agent had also led me to belive that since my visa stated use before the 6th of December it meant I could only be in China up to the 6th of December. What the agent did not tell me was that i could enter china before the 6th and could stay for 30 days. I decided to follow advice from this blog and went by myself to the embassy in hongkong. I discovered that the embassy is manned by people and not monsters like i was led to believe. the people are friendly and will answer any question. I am back in china and enjoying it

Hi Mr Khalid:
I'm from Algeria and I'm working in China as Overseas Market Sales Manager.
To teach in English China you must be english native (you can teach in some schools but salary not be like native speakers and will be hard to get work permit).
I advice you to contact some manufactures and try to apply working as Sales Representative, responsible for overseas market especially north Africa and Middle-east market,I'm sure you can speak 3 languages at least, Arabic, French and english.

I wish you good luck, and don't hesitate to contact me if you need any help
yours sincerely

This is good to hear.  Visa agents will always complain when I warn people about their illegal activities, of course, but if it helps somebody then it's worth it.
