Been in Copenhagen for almost two years and although i have some good friends here i thought i would make a proactive effort to make the most of my time here.

Danes are hard to get to know by American standards, but worth knowing. I started trying to make friends the moment I arrived. Danes are more approachable than they look. I don't drink and I couldn't dance, but I struck up conversations with people in bars and clubs and learned to dance in the process. I joined sports clubs and self-help groups, even if i had trouble understanding a word. I went to summer camps to learn about nature, relationship and even fire-walking. I met people who are still my friends today after 15-16 years and one who is my wife.
It was an experience that changed my life.
