Hi Everyone,

I am currently workng in Saudi but live in Bahrain and travel over everyday.

I have an option to move to Baku.

I am unsure what to do and would like some opinions and comparisons.

I like the life in Bahrain, like the weather, like the no taxes, like being able to fly to Dubai for a weekend of madness if Bahrain gets a bit boring. Don't know much about Baku yet.

My question is if you had the choice would you choose Bahrain or Baku and why?

Granted, I haven't been to Bahrain since I was 10, but I live in Baku now, and hands down I would choose Bahrain.  I suppose it depends on your situation, it seems many of the expat families here like it, but as a single guy, I find it extremely boring.  If you're not in to hookers and constant drinking, you'll quickly run out of things to do.  If that is your thing, then it's definitely the place for you.

What I remember of Bahrain, the expat community was much more developed, with more clubs, activities, etc.  People I've talked to who have been there more recently seem to have the same opinion.  Also, the beaches here are crap and as a general rule, the water is too polluted to swim.  You'll have to go to the Hyatt for that.
