Hi,

I am new to this forum and I hope both expats & non expats could assist me. I am in a midst to relocate myself to Japan next year. However, I really wish to find out more on the living expenses and probably some advises from those who are presently in Japan. If I happen to know little/basic Japanese, will I survive in Japan?

On the other hand, I really wish to meet some locals from this forum to brush up my Japanese.

hallo.
To rent a place for you, you will pay about 3 months in advance to get a private space ... about 250.000 Yens and 80.000 Yens as monthly fee.
But you have more cheaper options like GUEST HOUSES around 50.000 Yens... with a month for deposit and guarantee.
Places in Tokyo, is little expensive, but you have more jobs opportunities and better salaries.
I suggest you to choice central areas in Tokyo, because public transportations are expensive.
