Private English classes reasonable fee to charge per hour?

Hello,

I'm a US citizen, living in Mongolia, planning to attend MIU in the fall.  On the side I may be teaching some private English classes. What is a reasonable fee to charge per hour? I'm looking at teaching mostly English conversation using books and print-outs, at my place of residence. Are adults & children charged different fees? Is the cost adjusted by how many are in the class?

Thanks for any help on this topic.

Hello,

Thanks for your helpful suggestions!

Totally depends. I think you can get away with charging higher hourly rates in UB than in the provinces. I teach families who don't make a lot of money, so I charge between 5-10K MNT an hour. UB expats seem to charge a lot more.

Thanks for ideas of how much to charge for English teaching!
