Hello,

I am moving end of August to Malta on my own with my daughter and 3 very small dogs (Toy Poodles).  I have listen to the advice provided about not renting until I arrive and can see the properies.

However now I need to find a place to stay for 3/4 days until I find something more permanent.

Can anyone share who was in the same boat children/ dogs and how they did their move.

Really appreciate assistance don't have a idea what to do :(

Not sure I am looking for work in IT as a developer and talking to a couple of companies such as Phonix and GIF at the moment.  So some were in commuting distance, quite and children/animal friendly.

Its hard to say until I arrive I just need a place to crash with my daughter and dogs until I find something permanent.

Not sure if this answers your question or not, plus the flight from the UK get in real late so need to make sure we have somewere safe to go to.

This is a difficult one! Arriving at night with child and three dogs, your best bet is to look for a holiday let for two weeks. However you are arriving at the peak weeks so it wont be easy.
The Island is small so I wouldn't worry  to much about area just look for somewhere that will allow dogs. Once you find a place book  transport from the airport and think about a short term hire car as dogs are not allowed on the buses!
We have a friend who has an apartment in Mellieha, he is a dog lover and allows friends to use it in the summer, I will ask him but its only an outside chance that its free! (I will PM you once I find out).
Perhaps one of the others can come up with other possibilities.
Good luck.

dogs are allowed on buses, as long as in a pet carrier that fits on your lap

Hi Namasta :D

We have just made the move with a dog and a young teen.  The dog was easy, we booked her in to Matthew's in Marsaxlokk http://www.petsittingmalta.webs.com/ who made our dog feel right at home, even sent us pictures and videos daily :D

We booked in at some random holiday apartment for 10 days.

It was easier to find permanent accommodation without a dog in tow...   Made life much easier.

Hope this helps :D
