I am in KSA on visiting visa. My visa expires end of May. I was supposed to get my permanent visa (IQAMA) about a month ago already. But every week I get told there are delays at the labour office.
I need to get the permanent visa, return to my home country, South Africa, for medical tests, etc and then return here.
Does anyone know how long this labour department problem will continue. As I fear I might have to leave on 2 June, when my visiting visa expires.

Normal time frame for a company to get work visa from the MOL is min of 3 months. They need to provide the request, justification, zakat papers , saudization data  etc etc. On top of that with the new regulations the labor office is becoming very strict in issuing new visas.
