Planning to go to Muscat by Road and would like to know your experiences (if you may have any)
Which border to cross, where to stay, what not to do, etc.
Presently planning to go up to Muscat however will be aiming to touch Salallah. Been to Khasab(Musandam) but never south.
Weather looks great for coming weeks,

I'm living in Riyadh. I lived in Oman for 17 years and decided to do a return trip taking my girlfreind. We met at Abu Dhabi airport and through Al Ain/Buraimi to Sohar. Jill fell asleep along the coast road, it's duel carriageway and rather boring for most of it. After staying with frinds at Seeb drove down the Salalah road and camped overnight about 100km south of Hayma. We stayed at the Arabian Seavillas in Salalah 35OR/night inc breakfast. Recommended. On the way back we stayed at Nizwa, Al Diyer hotel, and in the Golden Oasis in the Capitol area because we were scuba diving at Bander Khoran. Both were OK. Have a good trip. I hope this helps.

Forgot to mention. I downloaded a Oman Police form to be filled in in minor accidents. Look it up and it explains why.
And I'm puzzled, what is there that you want to do that you think that you might not be allowed to do?
