I will be working in Salvador da Bahia for a month, starting May 18 until June 18.  I would like to connect with the ex pat community.  Is there an organized group?  Do the ex pats have get togethers, such as happy hours or potlucks?  Any assistance would be appreciated.

Hi kwilly,

On behalf of the entire Expat-blog Team, welcome on board.

In a country as vast as Brazil it's almost impossible for me as Animator to arrange get-togethers in every city as you can well imagine. I depend on the local members to do that themselves as much as possible.

There must be a lot of other things for the members in Salvador to do because they aren't spending much time on the blog, unfortunately. Hopefully your post letting them know that you're coming down here for a month will get something happening and generate some response.

Cheers,
William James Woodward - Brazil Animator, Expat-blog Team
