Minimum Income for Retirement Visa

Does anyone know the minimum income requirement for a retirement visa in Thailand? I heard many rumors. I am 66 years old...

Hi Captnw4,

I have moved your topic on the Thailand forum.

Best of luck,
Christine

Hi, its 800,000 Baht or 65,000 a month. To qualify for retirement extension(not visa) you need either:

1. 800,000 in a Thai bank for 2 months prior to 1st application 3 months for subsequent renewals.
OR
2. A CERTIFIED income of 65,000 Baht a month.(certified by your embassy in Thailand)
OR
3. a combination of 1 and 2 to = 800,000 per annum.

Plus of course a valid visa! You also need to be over 50.

But(reading your bio) I see you are 66 anyway and already living in BKK. I assume on a marriage extension?

Hope that helps.
