My son is selected to participate in his college study abroad program this summer. This past year he has developed sigificant asthma. I am curious as to the air quality in Xiamen in order to help determine if it will aggravate his condition. Thank you

According to reports the air quality figures are generally in the mid- 50s, don't think that would be too helpful for his condition at all. China is one of the most air polluted nations there is.

I'm going to Xiamen pretty soon. I'll let you know when I get back. That is, if I get back. If I suffocate & die then the air quality probably isn't the best.

It actually wasn't that bad. It was filthy, but relatively clean for China. I could see the people pushing each other and spitting on the sidewalk in front of me, so it could have been worse.
