Requesting a virtual tour

Hi everyone!

I am impressed with the kind of support provided on this forum. It sure comes in handy when moving to a new country.

I have read most of the post relevant to my queries and would want to ask certain questions

Firstly, What would I have to do for connectivity once in Kuwait? Can I buy a handset from India and a SIM card from there?

I have been offered a salary of 230KWD and would like to know the basic lump sum cost of accommodation +travel+food.

I will be working in the Avenues Mall and would like to have a shared accommodation. Any suggestions for the rented house in a nearby locality and people willing to share would be welcome.

Also, is there a problem with drinking water there and if yes, what is the solution?

Are all the accommodation facilities equipped with internet connection?

This would be it for now. I guess I'm asking a bit too much customized answers but I'm sure all those sweet people of this forum will reply! :)

Thanks!

Welcome kalkar. I will try to answer at least some of your questions.

The GSM phones as long as they are unlocked work just fine. I don't think you will find a shared accommodation for less than 60-70KD. The public transport is not expensive as I understand. Most agree that rest of the expenses are around 100KD per month. You need to use bottled water and apartments don't necessarily have internet connections.

I woul think hard before coming here for the salary you have been offered. Life is not cheap here, apart from the gas which you most likely won't be using.

you wont find places of accommodation near it,but you can find it in areas from where the public transport goes to avenues mall.it will be mostly in west of farwaniya.

you will have to share accommodation because of the rent rates nowadays are pretty high. you will find something good and spacious in around 200 above.

there is not a problem with drinking water, you can get a filter in your kitchen and use it.

not all  buildings are equipped with internet facilities, but you can check the internet service providers offers and rates on their websites

hope it helps.

Thanks for all the answers they sure do help!
