Can a teacher expat have a second job (part time) in Kuwait?

I did some research regarding this and many people mentioned that part time or second jobs in Kuwait where not allowed. However a recent article in Kuwait times said that expats will be allowed to have part time jobs in Kuwait. Is this true?

I was offered a teaching job in Kuwait Sep. 2013, however the pay is not so great. I was wondering if I could get a part time job (for example sales rep. at a store in the mall). Is this legal/possible? Has anyone had such experience before

Thank you

regarding your inquiry , actually it's not allowed to have a part time job as long as you have a contract with a company
But , if you have a government contract , then you can work part time in the same field ,
if you are a teacher you can work as private tutors in house
in case of you want to work in a different field , you can do this but it won't be legal

however , i know many persons working in two different fields :)
but they can adapt ,, just try not to be caught  ;)

if you still need any info
contact me

glad to help any time

thanks

Most of the teachers I know work doing private tutoring.  They make as low as 5 KD and up to 20 KD an hour, depending on the subject.

Thank you both so much for your reply
