arabian homes vs amoudia compound - jeddah

I haven't been to Amoudia so can't compare - but Arabian homes is possibly more 'western' in the people that are living there. Certainly they are one of the compounds that many expats want to get on to - and it is very difficult to get places there at the moment unless your company has places there already.

Most of the compounds have the same basic facilities - they differ in the details.

I have been to Arabian homes and it is exceptionally nice, very well kept grounds and excellent facilities, for westerners I would say Arabian homes and Sharbatly are probably the nicest and with the best facilities, at least from I have seen and I have seem many. A sDragonlady said though, if your hubbies company do not already have villas in these places be prepared for a long wait. I was on waiting lists for AH snd Sharbatly for three months and gave up in the end, now living in a provate rental in town.  Good luck and I hope it goes well.

thank you!  Depending on which hospital my husband signs on that's where we'd live. Living arrangements though is important to our family as finding housing outside the compound for a long while will be tough and not really desirable right off. Thanks so much for your input!

Arabian homes is a much better compound by all means especially for a western family,I had been in both many times... from what I gathered, your husband had offers by both KFSH and KFAFH.KFSH is a much better hospital with international standards and reputation, but people tend to like KFAFH more when it comes to the work environment and internal issues.

plus , who doesn't want to live next to the fruit boat !!!...

Arabian Homes own four compounds in Jeddah: Sierra, Andalus, Marbella and Medina Road. They are very different as regards quality, services and inhabitants.
