Doctor's salary

@ drnaziarizwan > Please note that you have posted on quite an old thread here ;).

If you are looking for a job in the hospital, i will advise you to post in the Healthcare jobs in Jeddah section, it is in fact more appropriate. ;)

Thanks

Priscilla

This post is quite discouraging.  I know I'm quite late in the discussion.  But why would a US based internal medicine doc even consider $130k/yr salary?  At my last employment, pain specialist fresh out of school started with $220k/yr base salary with bonus based on performance which easily ends up doubling the base salary.  Even Physician Assistants start with $100k/yr base and with bonus they easily take in $150k/yr or so.  Of course US jobs also come with health benefits and schools are free here.  So why would anyone consider such offer boggles my mind.

Frankly, only reason I even applied to Saudi hospitals was that because they cover so much basic necessities and I only have to pay federal taxes, and no state taxes (US citizens do that) I'd be saving quite a bit of money vs here where I can barely save anything due to high living cost.  But if salaries are below 60k/month SAR, it quickly becomes  quite a bad deal for US based doctors.  Perhaps things here in the US aren't bad after all.  hmmmm....

It's not a good offer cuz a consultant with northamerican training earns a lot more then 40000 SAR/month here including free housing, plane tickets, healthcare coverage for him/herself and family ....

hello , can anyone tell comment on my offer.

I got a job offer as a internal medicine resident.

Salary 7600 excluding housing

6400 including housing.

Hospital name is huda hospital,  its somewhere 90km from riyadh.

Does anyone know the hispital coz i cudnt find it online.

Is my salary decent enough to save something if i stay alone.

if you are interested in a teaching position in a medical college, please contact me.. I might find you a job in Riyadh.
Good luck

You know, I used to work in Abu Dhabi as a PRO, and from time to time I used to come across employment contracts with General Practitioners, Specialists and Consultants. Not that my experience should have weight in your consideration for the offer, but I'm hoping this gives you a slight idea before you jump in.

From what I know, GP's earn the least, while Consultants earn the biggest. This has something to do with length of experience.

Based on experience, GP's can earn around 16K, depending on Nationality. The one I know then was from Ethiopia. We had a consultant from India who was earning 45K a month. Their salaries exclude free education for their children.

For you who will be working in Saudi Arabia, I can't really tell how much you should demand. But you must know that I have a Canadian friend (nurse) who works in Qatar and earns 30K a month inclusive of allowances.

In Saudi Arabia, from what I know, basic salaries are usually negotiated during the recruitment process. Does your 40K monthly salary include your housing and transportation allowances? Other companies or hospitals provide food allowances and free education for their children. Paid yearly vacation (30 days) is almost always the norm. Those who are deployed on an "Oil and Gas site" take paid vacations for 30 days almost every other month. Air fares are also paid by the company.

Health professionals in Saudi Arabia earn less than those in the UAE and Qatar. There is a significant difference.

For a resident physician, you should get more than that. At least 3x that offer.

I, a health care professional working as an administrator  in a construction company earns bigger than that.

As far as your question is concerned, I would suggest that you open a new topic on the USA forum, members who have made the move will perhaps be able to guide you and  provide recent salary estimate for radiologist. Feel free to introduce yourself in a few words.
