Getting Italian residence PLEASE HELP!! :(((

Hi,

I am soon moving to Milan on the 27th November and the job offer that i have mentioned that i need to have Italian residence...

Can someone please help me out because im not sure how to go about it, or what i need to get it.

Also i have heard that you cannot get residence unless you have a contract with a house or flat! Is this true?
I have a place to live for a few months until i get settled, then i will look for an apartment, and i have a teaching position waiting for me.

If anyone can Help me out with info or advice i would really appriciate it..

i am a student in milan.
for my residence i sent a copy
passport
visa
proof of funds in bank
insurance
acceptance in university
i didnt send any contract of appartment
dont if this helps
