Hi all,

Following on from a recent topic about damp and mouldy homes, can anyone recommend a good dehumidifier brand and tell me where it is best to get one from? They seem to be pretty expensive!

This may or may not be useful to you.

Read these and other linked pages.

What will be of no use to you is to tell you that we have bought 2 dehumidifiers and are shipping them over when we arrive.
We bought this type.............

go here:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/SPECIAL-OFFER-P … 197&sr=1-1

and it may be that you can have Amazon deliver for less than a total price in Malta.

We chose the refrigerant type as they have lower running costs.

Good luck!

Oh yes, we are also going to vacuum store unwanted clothes etc during the winter.
Another trick I have used around the world in damp places was to have a light bulb hung in a wardrobe and switched on to keep the damp out.
I don't know if that will work in Malta as a recommendation is to keep wardrobe doors open but I will experiment when I get there :)

all ideas are worthy oif a go..for sure..

and yes i concur try amazon uk italy and germany as they will deliver here for some things - price them up with delivery included could be much cheaper than buying here for sure.

i usually find that if you filter your search for "eleigible for super saver delivery" it narrows the selections down to those  supplied by or fulfilled by amazon which nearly always means it can be delivered here
