What do most expats do for logging travel to check number of days spent in a country per year?

not sure what you mean by this. Are you planning to be an expat without a visa? Why do you need to count your days so carefully?

Hi..sorry..may need to be more clear..I travel quitr a bit and for tax and visa /residency purposes, need to keep travk of the countries I visit and alsi number or days I'm outside my country of residence..

i simply use a spreadsheet that I programmed so that I only need to put in the dates that I left and came back and it then computes the number of days spend in the country.

Or you could buy a calendar and write on each day where you were, no technology required.
