My wife and I are arriving in San Pedro Sula in November and staying at the Palma Real in Le Ceiba. We were wondering as we are there for two weeks and want to check out some of the real estate such as Trujillo and Le Ceiba Beach Club and others. Would it be better to rent a car or take taxi's or a combination of both.
What do you recommend as transportation from the airport? Taxi or just rent a car (SUV) for the two weeks?
Any information for areas to check out would also be a great help.
Thanks to all.

You should rent a car as long as you can deal with some different styles of driving. You need to drive offensively and defensively. Since your staying at Palma Real (25 minutes outside La Ceiba) it will be easier to get around. 2 of the drivers I know are out of the country for a few more months. That would have been a great option.
Villas Pico Bonito is a great place for lunch ip on the Cangrajal river. Very tropical and good food too. There's hot springs, waterfalls, market and lots of things to do.
