Can anyone suggest or reccomend car hire for short term 1-2 days near Marcali we need to hire a car for collecting kids from the airport and returning over christmas any one know of any where cheap too..???

Marcali is smallish, so you probably need to go to the next largest town such as Keszthely. Try in a search engine:

I think there are rentals available in Héviz and at Sarmellek airport (or the Hévíz Balaton Airport, if they did not change their name again, and are not closed/bankrupt this week). Won't be cheap however.
For cheaper (relative, but not absolute) you can try a local auto dealer. They sometimes rent their for sale used cars. But unless you speak Hungarian, or luck out and find an English speaking sales rep, this will be more difficult.

well i did it managed to find a car hire garage at the end of my street lol 7500 Hufs a day unlimited miles and a 50,000 deposit returnable
