Decent 2-bedroom apartment - $1,500-2,500/month; schooling (Kindergarten) around $5-10.000/year.

Apartments require 2 months security deposit; electricity, water, bottled cooking gas, parking and garbage extra. Most peo[;e use cell phones instead of landlines. InterNet $50 (high speed) cable TV $4.

Transportation (taxi) around #1.20/kilometre; Western food about 2-3 times US cost.

VN taxes apply (tax agreements with most countries offset these).

Health is a biggie, shop around for coverage and read the small print very carefully. People complain about having to deposit USD$2,000 pending insurance company approval for a broken leg.

All juniors needs are catered for in the big supermarkets. Men's shoes are difficult - bring a few extra pairs. Larger female shoe sizes ditto.

Comfort level - medium/good.

Check your PM.

I'd say my place is pretty decent according to my friends... I only pay $550pm, all depends on where you want to live but plenty of decent places from 500usd upwards....

Negotiable, as is pretty much everything. 2 months is typical, but my friends only paid 1 month :)

Only if you have larger feet, I'm size 43(euro size) and get shoes without issue. Plent yof shops for all budgets

If you have no obligations in your home country requiring part of that salary to be sent back there, you should be comfortable enough.

You can get decent 3 bedroom apartments for much less than $1500/month. I'm positive of that - I live in one.
