Personal aircraft and flying on Balize

I understand that under the QRP program I can bring my aircraft in to the country duty free. Do I have to re-register it in Belize and what is the procedure? I also read that I have to have my private pilot certificate "validated". Does anyone know the process?

Thanks for your help. This forum has provided  wealth of information.

Thank you

Yes, you will have get Belizean registration on your plane. You can find all of the forms and other info on the Belize Department of Civil Aviation website. http://www.civilaviation.gov.bz/

Thanks for the info and the link. I'll check that out.

Thank again,

dwosborne: I would be interested in what you find. My wife and I flew from western Canada to Belize and then on to Costa Rica at the end of November 2012. It was a great trip. We are looking to move to Belize as well, and would like to bring our airplane in. In the investigative stages now.
