The word 'spread' is not often used here. Often it is called 'paste'.

There is a small shop on the corner of Hai Ba Trung and Dong Du down from the Sheraton Hotel...called the Annam Gourmet Market, you might have some luck there...I buy sliced meats, cheese and wine from there at times.

Garlic is fairly inexpensive. Just need butter. I usually just make my own garlic spread for garlic bread.

Just to let you know...went to get some garlic salt and they do have a "garlic spread" there at Annam Shop.
