I was looking up into the night sky the other night (Aug 1) admiring the beauty of the full moon and then I realized that this month a very rare event will take place. August will have a blue moon (second full moon in a calendar month). This event is so rare that it has been incorporated into the English language to signify something extremely rare. Sometimes five years or more can pass without a blue moon, then we have some years that have two which is an event that is extremely rare indeed.
So, if you remember look upwards on August 31 and enjoy a view of the blue moon. You may not get another chance for quite some time.
