My Husband just accepted a job offer in Yanbu. I understand that he must go before the kids and I can join him. I was wondering if anyone could tell me how long it will take? We are Americans currently living in Morocco. Any information about the visa process would be very helpful and greatly appreciated.

Thanks All

It often depends upon the company, who is applying and could also depend upon the company's "green" status, your country of original, what documents are required by your embassy and here.........

At this time it is Ramadan and then there is the two week Eid celebration - so there is not likely to be any movement during that time, so nothing much will probably be done until at least the beginning of Sept. The same wait will occur during the second Eid in Oct if you are still waiting by then.

For my husband it took about 6-8 weeks for them to get him an entry visa (before he even left), but upon arrival he had his iquama within 6 weeks (which included the second Eid holiday period). After that it took very little time to gain our entry visas, a matter of days once we applied.

In contrast a friend arrived on a temp visa which was easy to obtain - but then he waited more than 6 months before he was finally able to bring out his family, again once he was able to apply the process went very quickly.

Advice generally given to this question is - there is no set answer - this is the Kingdom and it could take days, weeks, or months depending on the individual circumstances. Most of all you just need to be patient and have your husband keep in constant contact with the company to keep track of how things are progressing - it is a good learning experience as patience is needed a lot living in the Kingdom!
