Renting with dogs

Unless it is a house with some open space, I don't think anybody anywhere in the world would welcome renters with dog(s)(with very rare exceptions)... would you? I would not. Anyway, I rented once in Quito with a small dog, but I treated my landlord the "Ecuadorian way": didn't tell him about the dog in the beginning and later on it sort of became a norm... am I becoming an Ecuadorian? God, hope not...
I'm sure you will find a place with a dog, but you will look longer/harder, and your pet will be a reason for a higher rent.

Good News, i appreciate your response & info directly related to Cuenca.  Shes about 6 pounds, an Affenpihscher.  I wouldnt take her into a restaurant, but maybe the bus , hehe
