Can Expats buy villa's/ flats etc in dubai ?

there is a rumour that non UAE nationals can not buy thier home but can only rent ?

Can anyone confirm this ?

In addition to this, apparently if you want to buy you still need a UAE national to be in partnership with you for example the expat can have 49% but the UAE national has 51%?

i would really like to take a mortgage out and buy rather than rent please can someone advise what is possible in dubai?

Hi Sulmina!

As far as I know, you can buy the property in some specific areas of Dubai! I've seen some investors having their own apartments/villas!

If you want to get residence visa based on that property, in that case, the property value should be more than some specified value!

You can check more exact information from any real estate consultant! :)

Yes expats can buy apartments and villas in specific areas.

Here are some of those Areas
Springs,Gardens,Greens,Meadows,Arabian Ranches,Jumeirah Beach Residence, Jumeirah Lake Towers etc .....

Kindly note that you can no longer obtain a residence visa upon buying a property. If the property's value is over a million Aed you can apply for a 6 month renewable visit visa.

Thanks for the information Dubai28 :)
