You should at least try Mexico next door at maybe Cancun or Puerto Vallarta...

I would like to try out China. It is ever so vast and foreign, to me, and nothing like anywhere I have ever lived.

Japan looks organized and clean. I like the thought of living where people take pride in their work and work hard to do their job as well as possible.

I doubt I could live in Thailand. The humidity alone would be the death of me, but it is worth a go.

Somewhere in Africa would be nice, preferably south. I think South Africa might be the easiest, but Kenya and Namibia look more appealing to me.

The people of Cuba fascinate me. I could live there for a time, but would miss power steering and air conditioning.

Argentina might be fun, and certainly easier to visit Antarctica.

Speaking of frozen, I like the people of Canada. Every Canadian I have known makes me think I could easily live there. The first winter would be the last, though.

You sound like an Israeli I met in Rio years back after being released from the Israeli army. He just
arrived at the time from the Far East and was starting his tour in South America. Just be very careful
in China and South Africa.

As it turns out, I have moved to Taiwan since that post. Though it may or may not be part of China, I wonder why I should be careful. I have lived in the United States. If I could survive there, I can survive anywhere.

Do you miss the change of seasons while living in California?

But there are distinct 4 seasons anywhere in California!

In Southern California? No.

It's temperate. I'm from San Diego it's subtropical here where I live in Brazil but still you can feel the change of seasons like the yellowing of leaves during autumn .

China and the US are 2 different countries. Human rights and laws are different - one being very strict and punitive. If you bounce a check in
Beijing for example, you can be executed and the cost of the bullet charged to your parents.
South Africa is very violent to foreigners. Many
are stabbed at the neck with a rusty improvised
knife because of dislikes in someone"s appearance.
I'm not joking. So it's not a matter of "if I can survive the US, I can survive anywhere."

You can put your ad at the classifieds...

I wish to live in Australia or Canada,  :)

As for me....I was born because of an accident my darling dad made, sometime in early Sept 1963. It was a cold windy night & the stars were shinning brightly, and I guess my darling mum was dressed in her sexy nightgown, and poor pop's just had to release the seeds fm which I was born.
Poor dad and mum they really had a tough life supporting me the 'black sheep' of my family.
Hahahaha..."pse no offence meant to anyone once religion".
Thanks

Why not ?

For the sake of my kid's future, I would choose either Finland or the sultanate of Brunei. Safe, sound social security and excellent education.

Maybe, if you can hack the requirements.

Hmmmm.USA is a very nice country.there you are free and they respect human rights.so i would like to live there.

1/ you are free to shoot in the crowd thanks to the weapons lobby, free to declare war whatever the reason (but economic is a plus) and whatever the location, free to die in the street as the care a so expensive etc.

2/ and they respect human rights. Agree with you since 1960, they considers black people as Human being, then black people can vote, share their seats with the White, considered as equal with the white  especially by the police etc. Ah oui and respect the NATIVE people to supply them, alcohol, drugs and casinos...

Désolé Jean, half joke to kidding you but true also, US is not the true democracy that each European wish or at least would, rather a true capitalism with extreme sides...

But you are right, California, Louisiana, Alaska, Iraq, what a wonderful world, I have passion for music, Afro American culture, Native people then US is one of my passion, vivement le prochain president qu'on rigole encore, and after all, what should be America without the Europeans (it work also in the opposite).

Aller, just a last thing, as I see a post above "China and US are very different... China you can be executed"
Hum Hum....

If your skills are needed, it´s possible.

Balkans of course, especially Croatia or maybe Albania.

You don't like Montenegro?

Eh, Montenegro is also fine but I'm much more into those two countries.

The USA is the biggest supporter of war and terror in the world and does not respect human rights unless one is a rich, white, straight,  fundamentalist christian male.

I lived in the USA for 15 years and can give tremendous insight into the country. First off education is hit and miss! There is a huge racial divide still. Religion is Paramount in some areas and those people are very blinkered. It's true a white person have a better chance, but I met a lot of African Americans who educated themselves and live an extremely good life. The tendency for a person to hide behind their colour is common and this affects the work force as everything is now racist! The huge gulf between far left liberals and far right Republicans is embarrassing. If you are prepared to work and tolerate the injustices on both racial sides it's possible to have a good life.

Hello everyone,

Please note that this thread is not a debate about the USA. Members are invited to post a few words on the country they wish to live in not to judge other members' postings/choices.

Thanks in advance,
Bhavna

Agreed..."Norway" eapecially.

I wanna live a calm, secluded life - away from my family and friends. Dont know which country to choose.

I´m curious why you prefer Albania and Croatia. Can you enlighten me?

Greenland is a part of Denmark. Also the Faroe islands. Greenland does create interests due to global warming. Norway is a rich country (oil). Very big investment funds for the country.

I would live in either country and would like to explore Greenland.

On the moon

Would have to say my current location, Galway, in the West of Ireland.

Beautiful part of Ireland   infact all the west coast is stunning .

In South or Central America, where the weather is always nice, nature is beautiful, people are friendly and I can afford a safe and clean place to live in.

For south America Argentina is a good option the currency is all time low ...try finding something in south of provincia  buenos Aires its beautiful   safe quite...

Inflation is very high and the cost of living is also high due to that. If your income is in dollars maybe you can go through it. It really depends on the amount of dollar income you have. A one time purchase
of real estate should be favorable if you have the currency in dollars to spend because of the very strong dollar to date.
