I recently flew into Las Americas Airport rented a car and drove from Santo Domingo to Juan Dolio. Its such a shame a country that has so much natural beauty full of garbage on its sidewalks.
How can such nice people be so dirty, and truly not care of what tourist think about their country. I guess what makes a third world country is no middle class and garbage on the side of its roads.

I work for the last 14 years on the garbage issue and it is very difficult to get this problem in Dominican heads,but slowly we are making some progress but it will still take more time.

I don't think it would be that difficult to fix. All they have to do is clean it up and enforce the law NO LITTERING. I've been to Aruba and Bermuda no garbage on side of the roads there. Maybe just maybe the newly elected president cares about tourism enough to clean up this beautiful country........
