Hi. I will soon be moving to Lusaka with my husband. We will be bringing 2 dogs and a cat with us. Would appreciate any info with regard to the relocation, vets,boarding and grooming facilities etc. Are there plenty of pet owners there? Is there somewhere to meet and socialise the dogs.

Hi am Zambian. In the past one month the government has put in place laws in line wth dogs. Once in Zambia register your dog wth local authority. Vets are available in the show grounds about 20kilo metres from airport and 5 KS from town centre. Am sure the vet in the show grounds has info on socialising of dog owners. She is very good. I have 5 dogs and we do everything there- from vaccines to grooming and my dogs absolutely love it. You will also find advertisements and notices on the boards of the vet for things like dog owners who want to meet up, or pet trainers, etc. or even if you have puppies or kittens you will want to sale, its good to advertise there.
