Hi there,

I am deeply and truly very tired, frustrated, unhappy, sad, angry and very depressed because of my weight.

I am 28 years old and my height is 182 cm (centimeter). I weight around 107 kg (Kilogram), which is almost equal to: 5' 11" height and about 235 lbs.

Thankfully I don’t have any serious diseases but my weight is my problem.

I am not that huge rotund individual who is excessively fat. But still, I am not in a good shape because I have a big stomach (Belly fat) and a big hips.

I have been using my bicycle on daily basis to go to work (3 km going and the same 3 km coming back) for more than a year already, and I walk daily for about 15 minutes.... Nothing helps AT ALL. So I stopped using the cycling completely.

Nowadays, I go walking on my feet to work (3 km going and the same 3 km coming back) and I have been doing that for almost 1 month and NO any change or sign about any improvements.

I do office work for my job (So, It is NOT manual labor). However, I try to walk for a few steps during my breaks.

My breakfast around (7:30 am - 8:00 am) usually is: 1 piece of toast with a slice of cheese, Jam, peanut butter or honey and a half glass of milk, juice or tea.

At work, I drink 1 or 2 cups of black coffee and 3 to 5 cups of water.

My main meal is after I come home from work at about (5:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.) and it is: plate of rice (Size: Bigger than medium) with two chicken legs and some vegetable sauce or for example 2 (Bigger than medium) home made sandwishes of either beef cheesesteak or chicken fajita with a glass of pepsi (And sometimes without the soda).

Every day, In the evening between (7:00 p.m. -11:50 p.m). I drink around 3 big glasses of tea (3.5 small spoons of sugar/ for each glass).

Every day, In the evening between (7:00 p.m. -11:50 p.m) I eat around 150 gm (Gram) of chocolate or chocolate biscuit or pudding.

I am really trying to limit the calories I consume and I really look at the products that I buy to avoid the high calories. I tried to starve myself (I mean eating less) But I find it really really really sucked for me. I was tired alot. I suffered. I went to bed starving some nights, sexual desire ceased, and that really gives me a very bad mood and I cannot even work well nor focus on anything.

What should I do?

I live in a very boring and cold little village. Besides, I really cannot go to gym at all, because of my work and other commitments.

Please advise me, Is there any eating habits I should follow? Are there any tricks and tips to lose weight?

I would sincerely and greatly appreciate your interesting and creative inputs, as well as, your experiences and knowledge !

From my own experience (having lost 30kg since moving to Helsinki) you need to up your exercise and cut down on the bad things you're eating. Write everything that you eat in a little journal. Overweight people (myself included) classically underestimate how much they eat and how many calories they take in. I think if you wrote it down you would have a better idea of where you need to trim things.
In my own humble opinion, sugar is a terrible ingredient - I love it myself - and for weight loss it's your enemy. I try to look at food only as fuel for my body, and sugar does absolutely nothing for you besides pack on the pounds. No vitamins, no minerals, nothing to help your body function at all. Besides just table sugar, it also comes in the form of jams, jellies, your soda, and the large amound of tea you're drinking. While it doesn't seem like a lot, but think: 1 glass of Pepsi (108 calories) + the 10.5 tsp of sugar you put in your tea (157 calories). That's almost a meal that you're just drinking. I didn't even try to add how much sugar you get from the rest of your meals (as I have no idea how much you use).
The equation is not hard. Eat less and exercise more. Take in less that you use and you'll lose weight. You can YouTube exercises to do at home so that you don't have to leave so much. Cardio and strength training have worked incredibly well for me.
Good luck dude!

Oh, man, what the heck are you eating!!! Rice, Coke, sugars, chicken fajitas (white flower) etc. No wonder you are putting on weight! In my opinion the problem is WHAT you eat, not HOW MUCH you eat. There's no way of keeping hunger at bay with your diet. My husband lost 16 kilos in 4 months by following the Atkins' diet, try and find out about that and stick to your exercising, that you should definitely not cut, but if possible try and find someone to exercise with you, it's much more fun that way. Unfortunately there ar some people who seem to put on weight only by looking at food (!!), which means that you have to be extra patient and work hard to reach your target. Food journal is a good idea, as people usually really can't remember what they've eaten, we tend to cheat ourselves. And I think that everybody who has a family and loving people around them have a responsibility towards others, especially their children, so get your act together, ask for their support and if they love you they'll be ready to stand by you. If your goal is to lose approx. 20 kilos (or more) that may be possible in half a year's time. My motto is: everything is possible, make it your motto, too! And let us know how you are doing... Have a good summer.
