how does the healthcare system work in Andorra ? Is it efficient ?

What are the main differences between public and private sectors?

Is it recommended to purchase private health insurance in Andorra?

Hi,
Yes you need a private health insurance to get the Residence here in Andorra., Unless you are French, because the Andorran Social Security has an agreement with the French Social Security. The hospital service here is top quality, however for serious diseases you are sent to Toulouse or Barcelona.

I do not know how the Healthcare System works in Andorra, exactly. But i can tell you what i do, and so far has been working fine. I just buy a private health insurance from a local company for close to 1000 euros per year, it covers it all. I have used it a couple times and in my opinion was worth it every cent of it. I am sure there are other ways, but i just used the one they suggest you when you immigrate to Andorra as a foreigner. Effective and no red tape whatsoever. at least in my case.
