I thought to share this with this forum, I was at Soprano's in town for lunch and speaking to one of the waitresses there she gave us this information.  I cannot recommend this as I have not participated and I know nothing of the service other than this information.  So check it out (with the usual caution of females, always let someone know where you are going and when you expect to be back home etc):

It is a free service to help you find partners to practise foreign language conversation in a relaxed friendly international environment.

Free language teacher service

International meeting point - weekly social and cultural events programme
Friday & Saturday international lounge DJ nith 09:30 pm - 2am
Located at Sopranos (Guild St by the train station)

Did anyone here every go to this?  If yes, give a report back to let us know what you thought.

If there are any other meet up's like this that people on this forum is aware of, why don't you share it with everyone, it would be really useful for all new comers who are seeking to do things and meet people.  Thanks :)
